The Third Tour of the FMV Challenge brings us to Croatia.



GNK Dinamo Zagreb are the biggest side in Croatia, and they will be your club to manage for this stage of the tour. As you are the biggest side in the country you will have the best players, the best facilities, the best youth, and the most money to spend to help you dominate your rivals and qualify for European competition. Despite the fact you are the colossus of Croatia, you will be severely overmatched in Europe and can expect to struggle greatly against the major European sides. Do you have what it takes to keep up the nigh impossible domestic expectations saddled upon the Bad Blue Boys and get results in Europe?



GNK Dinamo Zagreb

Founded in 1945 as a replacement for three clubs disbanded by the Yugoslav Communist Party, the Modri (Blues) are the most successful club in Croatian history. Home matches are played at the Stadion Maksimir in Zagreb, one of the largest stadiums in the nation. The supporters group of the club, the Bad Blue Boys, are one of the most notorious and dangerous supporters groups in all of football. The club contests the Eternal Derby with their bitter rivals Hejduk Split, who are the clear #2 in Croatian football both historically and in the modern era. With more silverware than any other Croatian club (including the only European silverware in Croatia: the 66-67 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup), and having spent their entire existence in the top flight in both Yugoslavia and Croatia, Dinamo are a force to be reckoned with. Many of the top Croatian players in the world have played for Dinamo, and Dinamo have a track record of being a tough draw in Europe.

Prva HNL

The top flight of Croatian football, established in 1992 following the breakup of Yugoslavia. For the 2011-2012 seasons the league has 16 teams, however that number will be reduced to 12 for the following year due to restructuring and thus 5 teams will be relgated for this year. The winner qualifies for the UEFA Champions League Qualifying Round, while the runner-up and second runner-up qualify for early Qualifying Rounds in the Europa League. Teams play each other twice with 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw.

CHALLENGE DYNAMICS

This challenge will last for three years, upon completing your third season in Croatia
(1st May 2013), you can no longer collect points for this destination.

You must start set your manager experience as "Automatic"
and play in a new save from June 2010.

You have until the midnight of 31st January 2012 to submit your screenshots in this thread,
and accumulate as many points as you can.

You may not manage any other teams, or use other programs to aid you in this challenge.

What do you mean by "Group Stage Exit" in Champions League ? If I finish 3rd in the group and exit the CL, but qualify for EL and lose in the second round that means 2+3=5 or will I just get the 3 for EL exit ?

When you exit the CL group stages you get that amount of points. If that takes you into the EL and you earn points there too, well that also adds to your total.

The better you do in all competitions, the more points you get.

1. What's the etiquette for loading nations on these challenges, other than the nation we're touring?
2. Do you mean game starts June 2011 and ends May 2014?

1 - Load as many as your pc can handle!
2 - Uh... maybe? I did start a save and checked out the dates/rules etc for Croatia but I'm not sure if I put them in properly or not this time. Start the soonest the game will let you and finish the end of the month the league does. Points count for the first three seasons.

I'll get the dates looked at in a bit and adjust the first post for accuracy!

Yeah some lovely stadia being erected around the world recently. Really impressed by the way Croatian football is evolving and that's one of the reasons we chose this destination - to be a part of that emerging force!

Yeah, that's going to be the tough part of this challenge - domestically, Dinamo are huge... but in the CL, pure minnow status!

Your CL group is bad ? Inter, Man City and Valencia for me Was top until the last 2 games

P.S. What about 1st Knockout Round exit ? Don't get any points for that or did you forget to add it ?

3 points for a first round exit, I'm not sure how that line got deleted, probably when I was trying to tidy up the code. Thanks for the spot!

I tried finishing 3rd rather than staying in CL and hoping for an easy way in the Europa League...Got Villareal
