This is our annual game of Pass The Parcel. We each have a 6 month stint in charge of the game and in that time we decide how we do things, from signing players and choosing how we play to moving clubs if we really feel like it. After some executive decision making in the staff room we have decided that we shall start off our game in Brazil in charge of the wonderful Neymar's club, Santos.

Romário de Souza Faria (born January 29, 1966 in Jacarezinho, Brazil), better known simply as Romário (Portuguese pronunciation: [ʁoˈmaɾiu]), is a former footballer who played striker, manager and current politician who is currently[when?] running for a mayor like position in his hometown.[citation needed] He helped the Brazil national team win the 1994 FIFA World Cup and was one of the most prolific strikers in the world.

He was selected the FIFA World Player of the Year and won the World Cup Golden Ball in 1994, chosen as forward on FIFA Dream Team and named as one of the Top 125 greatest living footballers as part of FIFA's 100th anniversary celebration. He is also known as one of the very few strikers to surpass the mark of 1,000 goals.

So who is wanting to participate after me? I will be having control from the game period of 15th December 2011 until 30 June 2012 when the next person will take the reigns.

Who wants in?

List updated in the first post.

I have put in permanent repeated reminders on the dates that people should be saving and passing the game on in the hope that nobody plays too much of it in one go.

Well, I've gotta ask;
How long will we have (roughly) to play our time? My available playtime varies a lot at times :|

Probably as long as you need provided it isn't a stupidly long time I'd imagine.

At most two weeks. That is more than enough time do do a 6 month stint.

Bad start to the competitive season.

First match in charge was the Club World Cup Final against Barcelona and after taking the lead at the start of the first half and looking pretty good Barca pulled it back and took control winning the match 3-1 in the end, This was followed by two friendlies against Independiente and Saint Martin which we duly won both matches.

Now heading to the first Sao Paulo State game at the end of January.

Sold off a few fringe players to try and get some money in so we can in turn invest in the playing squad but it is a bit of a struggle.

First month completed.

Aside from losing in the CWC against Barcelona we came out on top in all our other games. Both friendlies were won easily and both games in the league were also done and dusted with some amount of ease picking up victories over Portuguesa (3-0) and Mirrasol (2-0) to put us joint top in the league heading into February,

Signings were Maicon on loan from Lokomotiv Moscow, Mario Santana on loan from Napoli and a young Brazilian centre back called Romario who cost £1m from Internacional.

On-wards and upwards.

Or alternatively decides to make us move clubs or something stupid like that.

One problem I have noticed with selling players is that the vast majority of the money received actually goes to a "third party". Whoever sells Neymar will actually only get 40% of his transfer fee as somebody else owns 60% of him.

Proving to be a bit of a walk in the park if I am honest.

Played 6 in the league, won all 6 scoring 17 and conceding 1 in the process.

My time in charge of Santos has come to an end and I am happy to pass it over to Aird who now takes control of the club and do what he see's fit for us.

This is what he is taking over from:

Club World Championship
Our very first game in charge was the final of the Club World Championship against the mighty Barcelona. After going ahead early on through Leo it all went downhill. Messi missed a penalty which would have seen Barca pull level as we held on despite a sever battering. The favourites eventually pulled it back through Sanchez in the second half and went all out to secure the match with the Chilean scoring again before Dracena sent the ball into his own net to give the Spanish and European Champions a 3-1 victory.

Sao Paulo State Championship

The State Championship proved to be somewhat of a formality for Santos as they cruised to victory in the competition blowing everybody else away ending the tournament losing only one of nineteen games in the league phase, against Gremio Baruei scoring an impressive 44 goals in the process conceding only 6 in the process.

The top 8 sides then qualify for the knockout stages and we were paired up against Americana in the quarter final before beating Gremio Baruei in the semis to face Palmerias in the two legged final. We played the first leg away from home and came away as victors following a 1-0 triumph setting us up nicely for the 2nd leg at home. We fell behind early on to a Kleber goal and things were very tense until Souza was sent off just after half time. We piled on the pressure and eventually pulled it back on the night courtesy of a Henrique own goal. We were then also reduced to ten men as our own Henrique was sent off with just over ten minutes left. We kept the same shape and held out to keep the game at 1-1 and give us a 2-1 aggregate victory and officially be crowned as Sao Paulo State Champions.

Copa Libertadores

We sauntered through the group stages picking up maximum points following double victories over Botafogo, O'Higgins and Leon de Huanuco. That put us through to the knockout stages however we fell at the first hurdle to Argentine side Independiente following a shock 6-2 loss.

Brazilian National First Division

My time in charge saw me start the campaign to be crowned as First Division Champions and it has been a bit of an indifferent start to this competition. Aird takes over with the club sitting in 7th place, but only 6 points off top, after 10 matches played.

Good luck Aird. The save file should be in your pm box on Monday night.
